TRUSTED BY THESE WELL KNOWN BRANDS AND HUNDREDS MORE.
Both Bruce Forsyth and David Jason hail from Edmonton, as did the stage and film actor, Leo Genn (1903-78). Originally qualified as a barrister, Genn found his dark good looks, presence and rich measured speaking voice an asset on stage and screen. In the 1930s, he acted Shakespeare with the Old Vic Company and can be seen dancing with Wendy Hiller at the ball in the celebrated movie version of ‘Pygmalion’. Although never a major star, he did appear in two of the better postwar British movies. He was one of the three escapees in that classic prison camp tale of ingenuity - ‘The Wooden Horse’. And as one of the murder suspects in that entertaining comedy thriller of 1946, ‘Green for Danger’, he does nothing towards maintaining the traditional respect given to the medical profession in his amusing punch-up wth love rival, Trevor Howard. |
